Job Description
Gibsons Restaurant Group is a renowned establishment dedicated to delivering a superior dining experience through its commitment to four fundamental core beliefs: Hospitality, Quality, Value, and Family. With a strong presence in the hospitality industry, Gibsons Restaurant Group has established itself as a premier destination for guests seeking exceptional food and an inviting atmosphere. The group is known for its dedication to quality and excellence, ensuring that every guest receives outstanding service and memorable culinary experiences. The company values a team-oriented environment, fostering a family-like culture among its employees, which reflects in their hospitality approach to guests and colleagues alike.
The Pastry Cook role at Gibsons Restaurant Group is a vital position within the culinary team, focusing on the preparation of bakery and pastry items that meet the high standards of the restaurant. This role is responsible not only for crafting delicious pastries and baked goods but also for maintaining the principles that Gibsons stands for — hospitality, quality, value, and a sense of family. The position demands a skilled and dedicated individual capable of producing food items consistent with the restaurant’s recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
As a Pastry Cook, you will be entrusted with setting up your station according to the restaurant guidelines, ensuring all tools and ingredients are properly prepared for the day’s service. You will sort production area orders and prepare bakery and pastry items in a timely and sanitary manner, guaranteeing freshness and quality for every guest served. Throughout your shift, you will be responsible for restocking items to maintain an efficient workflow without disruptions. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of your workspace and all storage areas is essential to upholding the restaurant’s commitment to safety and quality.
Beyond direct food preparation, this role contributes to the broader kitchen team's efforts by assisting with cleaning, sanitation, and organizing the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage spaces. Working as part of a dynamic culinary environment requires flexibility and a proactive approach, often managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. A successful Pastry Cook will have a passion for excellence and the ability to work harmoniously with others while embracing the restaurant’s philosophy and values. Training and continued development within the role provide opportunities for expanding culinary skills and contributing to the ongoing success of Gibsons Restaurant Group.
