Job Requirements
- minimum of 3 years experience in a pastry chef role
- culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- ability to produce high volumes of pastry products
- knowledge of food safety regulations
- strong attention to detail
- able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- physical ability to stand for extended periods
- willingness to travel
Job Qualifications
- proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role
- strong knowledge of baking and pastry techniques
- creativity and innovation in dessert production
- excellent time management and organizational skills
- ability to work efficiently under pressure
- strong communication and teamwork abilities
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- flexibility to travel as needed
Job Duties
- support the pastry and bakery aspects of concurrent events at Zoo Atlanta
- execute and innovate in the pastry department
- create products of highest level of food quality and presentation
- produce consistent products in high volume within specified timeframes
- ensure proper safety and sanitation of kitchen and food service areas
- plan, understand, and communicate event needs to staff and associates
- assist in developing and implementing creative menu items that adhere to company standards
- collaborate inter-departmentally to streamline events
- be willing to travel as required
