Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of related pastry experience in upscale or high volume settings
  • Ability to manage food preparation and safety procedures
  • Culinary education preferred but not required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to develop menus and manage inventory
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Commitment to maintaining sanitation and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Minimum three years related experience in upscale, high volume restaurant and/or catering operations
  • Demonstrated creative and quality pastry skills
  • Knowledge of quality food products and food recognition
  • Strong understanding of current food and catering trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepares, produces and orders for the pastry department
  • Handles, prepares and stores perishable products
  • Adheres to HACCP guidelines to ensure efficient, safe and sanitary food production
  • Oversees inventory and ordering processes
  • Develops menus with a focus on seasonal ingredients
  • Manages hourly associates including hiring, counseling, coaching and development
  • Ensures compliance with sanitation and food safety standards
