Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years of related pastry experience in upscale or high volume settings
- Ability to manage food preparation and safety procedures
- Culinary education preferred but not required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to develop menus and manage inventory
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
- Commitment to maintaining sanitation and food safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree preferred
- Minimum three years related experience in upscale, high volume restaurant and/or catering operations
- Demonstrated creative and quality pastry skills
- Knowledge of quality food products and food recognition
- Strong understanding of current food and catering trends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepares, produces and orders for the pastry department
- Handles, prepares and stores perishable products
- Adheres to HACCP guidelines to ensure efficient, safe and sanitary food production
- Oversees inventory and ordering processes
- Develops menus with a focus on seasonal ingredients
- Manages hourly associates including hiring, counseling, coaching and development
- Ensures compliance with sanitation and food safety standards
