Pinkbox Doughnuts is a fast-growing, multi-state company on an ambitious path toward national expansion. The company is currently seeking a seasoned Pastry Chef to join their team and lead scratch-based product development, maintain high standards of decoration, and ensure consistent production quality across their commissary and retail outlets.

The Pastry Chef role at Pinkbox Doughnuts is both creative and operational, focusing on scratch-made fillings, glazes, icings, frostings, and decorative execution on a large scale. Although doughnut-specific production experience is preferred, it is not mandatory; however, strong pastry fundamentals are essential. This role will be instrumental in refining product offerings, supporting seasonal launches, and upholding the brand’s reputation for exceptional doughnuts and pastries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and refining scratch-made components such as fillings and glazes, adapting traditional and modern pastry techniques to doughnut products, and maintaining flavor and visual consistency across all locations. They will establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for filling, glazing, decorating, finishing, and storage processes. Scaling recipes for large-volume production while preserving quality, texture, and appearance will also be a key part of the role.

In addition to production duties, the Pastry Chef will lead training programs for commissary and shop-level teams, develop detailed training materials and documentation, and act as the subject matter expert for pastry execution across all operational markets. They will be closely involved in costing all recipes including decorative components, monitoring ingredient yields, batch scaling, waste management, and collaborating with operations and the supply chain to optimize production efficiency.

This role also includes participating in new store openings by ensuring product readiness and providing comprehensive training. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a pastry chef, head baker, or senior pastry leader
  • Expert skill in scratch pastry production and decoration
  • Proven experience costing recipes including yield and waste considerations
  • Experience scaling recipes for high-volume production
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong training and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a pastry chef, head baker, or senior pastry leader in a commercial, retail, hotel, or R&D environment
  • Expert skill in scratch pastry production and decoration
  • Proven experience costing recipes, including yield and waste considerations
  • Experience scaling recipes for high-volume production
  • Strong leadership, training, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Donut production experience
  • Multi-unit or multi-location operational support
  • Culinary or pastry degree or certification

Job Duties
