Job Requirements
- Five years of prior pastry chef experience preferred
- Ability to work full time Monday through Friday with varying hours
- Capable of supervising and managing kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions including handling kitchen equipment
- Must be able to perform essential job functions satisfactorily with or without accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Five years of prior pastry chef experience preferred
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong knowledge of baking and pastry techniques
- Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
- Experience in recipe development and menu planning
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Job Duties
- Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
- Ensures recipes and standards are followed
- Controls food costs and prepares appropriate quantity based on production needs
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and serving temperatures
- Monitors maintenance and sanitation of pastry kitchen and equipment
- Supervises hourly kitchen and pastry associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling and disciplinary action
- Helps plan and implement seasonal menus
- Orders and maintains pastry supplies and inventory
- Performs other duties as assigned
