Job Requirements

  • Five years of prior pastry chef experience preferred
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday with varying hours
  • Capable of supervising and managing kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions including handling kitchen equipment
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions satisfactorily with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Five years of prior pastry chef experience preferred
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong knowledge of baking and pastry techniques
  • Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
  • Experience in recipe development and menu planning
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
  • Ensures recipes and standards are followed
  • Controls food costs and prepares appropriate quantity based on production needs
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and serving temperatures
  • Monitors maintenance and sanitation of pastry kitchen and equipment
  • Supervises hourly kitchen and pastry associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling and disciplinary action
  • Helps plan and implement seasonal menus
  • Orders and maintains pastry supplies and inventory
  • Performs other duties as assigned
