Located in Denver, Colorado, this prestigious club offers a wealth of amenities designed for an exclusive membership base of 585 members. It provides an unparalleled experience encompassing world-class golf facilities, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, platform tennis, pickleball, ice hockey, lawn bowling, and croquet. Dining options at the club range from casual to fine dining, all curated to ensure a high level of member satisfaction and luxury.
Over its more than 130 years of operation, the Denver Country Club has consistently sought to establish an inviting and inclusive atmosphere for its members, their guests, and its staff. The club is well known for its championship pedigree in golf, having hosted significant PGA and amateur golf tournaments such as the Denver Open, Trans-Mississippi Amateur, Pacific Coast Amateur, and the Curtis Cup. Recent enhancements, including the 2020 golf course renovation led by renowned course architect Gil Hanse, have elevated the club's status among premier golf venues on the West Coast.
Joining the Denver Country Club means becoming part of a team that values core principles such as integrity, passion, teamwork, respect, and excellence. These core values guide the club's commitment to delivering outstanding service and memorable experiences. Integrity is emphasized through honesty, commitment, and perseverance in every interaction, while passion reflects a creative and enthusiastic approach to work. Teamwork underscores the importance of support, communication, and collaboration among staff members. Respect fosters empathy and understanding, ensuring positive relationships, and excellence pushes the club towards quality service, hard work, and continuous growth.
This particular opportunity is for the position of Pastry Chef within the Food and Beverage - Kitchen department. Reporting to the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director, the Pastry Chef will play a vital role in the culinary operations by preparing all pastries, desserts, confections, and dessert sauces that align with the club’s exacting standards. This role demands a high level of skill and dedication ensuring that every baked product delivers consistent quality and presentation.
Operating in a member-centric environment, the Pastry Chef will review banquet event orders to anticipate and fulfill pastry requirements, maintain clean and safe kitchen conditions to meet health regulations, and manage inventory to guarantee fresh baked goods are always available. The role requires flexibility to work morning and evening shifts and the ability to complete receiving tasks or other duties as assigned by kitchen leadership. Dependability and professionalism are critical as the candidate must reliably attend scheduled shifts and exhibit a strong willingness to exceed expectations to ensure member satisfaction.
The offered hourly rate for this position ranges from $26 to $28, reflecting the high level of expertise and commitment expected. Working at the Denver Country Club promises a supportive, values-driven atmosphere where employees receive comprehensive benefits including vacation, sick time, 401(k), medical and dental coverage, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, paid sick leave where mandated, holiday and referral bonuses, complimentary meals and parking, golf privileges, and employee merchandise discounts. This unique hospitality environment at a landmark institution is ideal for a culinary professional who appreciates tradition, quality, and community spirit, and who strives to craft exceptional pastry experiences in a premier private club setting.
