Job Requirements

  • Experience: 1 year baking
  • Proven experience as a baker, pastry chef, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Creativity and a passion for baking

Job Duties

  • Adhering to standards of personal cleanliness and proper uniform at all times
  • Displaying courteous disposition to guests, co-workers, and purveyors, exemplifying hospitality standards, handling requests and complaints with guest satisfaction as priority
  • Cooperating with management and co-workers, assisting others with duties as needed, communicating suggestions for improvement in a positive fashion
  • Exhibiting punctuality, dependability, and willingness to work non-scheduled shifts
  • Adhering to recipes at all times, consistently receiving high ratings during tastings
  • Ensuring that last orders served meet quality standards
  • Complying with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
  • Preparing sponges, fillings, toppings, frostings, icings, and assembling them into tortes, cakes, and pies
  • Decorating cakes, pies, tortes, and other pastries
  • Preparing garnishes for pastries and other desserts
  • Preparing mousses, cookies, and cakes for brunch
  • Assisting the chef in the production of brunch and special occasion desserts
  • Correct selection and safe use of knives, hand tools, utensils, and equipment to decorate, weigh, measure, maintain holding temperature, bake, cook, whip, refrigerate, fold, grate, pipe, coat, or otherwise produce food in the pastry shop
  • Proper storage and rotation of food items pertaining to station
  • Completing other duties as assigned by supervisor
