Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- formal culinary training or pastry arts certification preferred
- minimum of 3 years experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role
- thorough knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients
- strong leadership and coaching skills
- excellent creativity and innovation in pastry creation
- ability to manage inventory and vendor relationships
- proficiency in maintaining sanitation and safety standards
- effective communication and conflict resolution skills
Job Duties
- Monitor and maintain quality of all product and presentation
- oversee all aspects of the daily operation of pastry production areas
- receive, check and properly store all incoming product
- know and comply with all sanitation standards
- schedule pastry and bread production based on business needs and communicate to staff
- prepare reports as needed including payroll and scheduling
- review vendor pricing structures and adjust product as needed
- operate, teach and supervise safe operation of all appliances and equipment
- handle conflict resolution of guests and staff as needed
