We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Pastry Chef to join the LINE Austin culinary team. As a Pastry Chef here, you will play a crucial role in crafting outstanding dessert menu items in collaboration with the Executive Chef, showcasing your creativity and technical pastry skills. Your responsibilities will be varied and fulfilling, including preparing desserts for all meal periods such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and room service, ensuring every dish is of the highest quality and presented beautifully. Moreover, you will take charge of ordering all necessary food and supplies, managing baking staff schedules, supervising and training bakers and kitchen assistants, and ensuring all health, safety, and operational standards are rigorously maintained.

As a leader in the kitchen, you will foster a collaborative environment while maintaining a safe workspace and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations. Job Duties
- Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
- establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
- minimize number of accidents occurring from unsafe practices by ensuring applicable health and safety standards are understood and applied in the conduct of all work activities
- perform all duties in a safe manner and monitor the actions of others
- create and prepare dessert menu items with the Executive Chef and prepare dessert items before service begins, and plate items as they are requested during service
- responsible for breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets and room service meal periods
- order food and supplies for all menus
- schedule all necessary baking staff to run an organized and efficient operation
- supervise and train bakers and other kitchen workers as they assist in the preparation of dessert items
- train other cooks/bakers in pastry techniques
- prepare baked goods such as breakfast breads and breads for the hot kitchen and dining room
- research and develop new recipes, test recipes in the kitchen to keep the menu up to date and interesting, and cost the recipe and submit to the Chef for approval
- adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
- maintain "open door" communication with employee
- ensure staff understands their job expectations before holding them accountable
- maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files
- be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
- attend relevant meetings
