We are currently seeking a creative and experienced Pastry Chef to join our dynamic culinary teams at both Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery and Brasserie Mon Chou Chou. This full-time role is ideal for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a keen eye for detail. As a Pastry Chef, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of preparing a wide variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods that delight our patrons and complement our menus. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating innovative dessert recipes, refining traditional offerings, and maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.

The role involves close collaboration with the broader kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and delivery of high-caliber culinary products. You will play a vital leadership role by training and supervising junior pastry staff members, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Maintaining a clean and hygienic workstation in compliance with food safety regulations is essential to this position. You will also be responsible for monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies to ensure uninterrupted production.

In addition to day-to-day pastry preparation, you will contribute to menu planning and special events, bringing fresh ideas and seasonal inspiration to the dessert offerings. This position requires creativity, technical expertise, strong organizational capabilities, and the ability to perform well under pressure. Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a prep cook preferred
  • Proven experience as a pastry chef, baker, or relevant role in a similar environment
  • Certification from a culinary school or equivalent work experience
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler's certification or willingness to attain
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs
  • Ability to work standing for 8+ hours

Job Duties

  • Develop and prepare a wide variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods
  • Create new recipes and innovate on existing ones to keep our dessert menu fresh and exciting
  • Ensure all pastry and dessert items are prepared and presented according to company standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
