The position available is for a Kitchen Supervisor, a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and safety, and managing kitchen staff. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree
- state-issued food handling certification as required
- 5+ years of experience in hospitality or culinary industry
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- strong communication skills including effective speaking before guests and co-workers
- proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence
- basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Job Duties
- Supervise and coordinate activities of all kitchen staff
- instruct the team in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items
- perform daily walk-throughs to determine daily production and prioritize product utilization
- inspect food preparation, storage, serving areas, and equipment to ensure safe, sanitary food handling practices
- assist in filling in for pastry cooks in times of unexpected absence or increased volume
- order and requisition food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation
- verify quantity and quality of received products
- determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
- collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus considering seasonal availability and anticipated volume
- assist with estimating the amount and cost of required ingredients and supplies
- analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items based on food, labor, and overhead costs
- ensure staff has a complete understanding of their job requirements and sufficient training
- maintain awareness of documentation needed in employee files
- oversee food preparation and presentation to meet organizational and safety standards
- plan, direct, and supervise food preparation, purchasing, and cooking activities of multiple kitchens or outlets
- follow inventory standards and procedures for accurate inventory control
- meet with guests to discuss menus for special events
- record production and operational data
- ensure immediate response to guest comments and concerns
- arrange for equipment purchases and repairs as needed
