Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship
  • 3-5 years experience as a Pastry Cook at a 4 or 5 star hotel or restaurant
  • Food handling certificate
  • Flexible and long hours required sometimes
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • Knowledge of Latin and Asian cuisine a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, garnish and present desserts
  • Check quality of pastry products
  • Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure company standards
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to innovate dessert offerings
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Assist in training junior pastry staff
