Meals and food-related experiences are considered essential aspects of daily life for the residents, and a memorable dining experience is the main goal of the culinary team. Waltonwood nurtures a community-centric mindset wherein every team member’s contribution is valued highly, emphasizing punctuality, dependability, and teamwork to ensure the smooth running of all community operations. The company culture encourages associates to be proactive, supportive, and attentive to residents' needs and comfort, making Waltonwood a place where residents and staff alike feel at home and valued.

The Pastry Chef position is a vital role within Waltonwood’s Culinary Department, responsible for preparing a variety of desserts and baked goods such as fresh breads, morning pastries, pizzas, doughs, cakes, and pies. This role requires adherence to recipes and production specifications established by the Culinary Service Director, ensuring that every item prepared meets Waltonwood’s high standards for flavor, texture, and consistency. The Pastry Chef works under the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director and plays a creative yet detail-oriented role that balances efficiency with customer focus. The expectation is not just to prepare food but to provide residents with a delightful dessert experience that embodies the company’s message "we save the best for last."
