We are currently seeking a passionate Pastry Chef to join our vibrant Food Services Team at Aramark. This role offers a unique opportunity for a culinary professional who loves to experiment with various tastes and baking techniques. In this position, you will be responsible for creating baked goods by following standardized recipes and production guidelines that ensure both quality and consistency. You will have access to state-of-the-art baking equipment and resources to support your creativity and craftmanship. The Pastry Chef will organize ingredients and tools, perform tasks such as quantifying, weighing, blending, and chopping, and master the use of ovens, mixers, and other baking instruments.

Health and safety are paramount at Aramark; therefore, you will be expected to maintain strict adherence to hygiene protocols, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures. This includes cleaning and disinfecting workspaces and utensils after use to promote a clean and safe working environment. The role demands physical stamina and the ability to perform activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for prolonged periods, as well as the diligent use of personal protective equipment and uniforms as required.

Job Requirements

  • minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior baking or pastry chef experience preferred
  • valid food safety certification
  • proficiency in basic math
  • strong communication skills
  • physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting and standing for long periods
  • compliance with use of personal protective equipment and uniforms
  • commitment to food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • prior experience as a baker or in a similar role
  • established knowledge of baking procedures and compliance with sanitation regulations
  • mandatory food safety certification
  • proficiency in basic math operations and numerical counting
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to convey messages effectively in both written and spoken form
  • physical capability to manage lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing or walking
  • willingness to wear specific uniforms and personal protective equipment as required
