The Passport Agent Clerk role is based in Los Angeles, CA and represents a full-time, long-term, on-site opportunity within the Passport Team. This position operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, offering weekly pay at the rate of $27.80 per hour, which includes $4.93 in holiday and wellness pay distributed as cash. Employees have the flexibility to reallocate the holiday and wellness pay toward medical benefits or 401(k) savings if preferred. The Passport Agent Clerk plays a pivotal role in processing passport applications by managing tasks such as receiving, reviewing, scanning, data entry, printing, mailing, and archiving applications. Key responsibilities include operating office equipment like scanners and mailers as well as working within the TDIS-PD system. Customer service is a core component, assisting applicants at counters, scheduling appointments, and providing essential information.
Beyond the direct application processing duties, the role involves quality assurance by verifying application completeness, document compliance, and fee accuracy. Administrative functions like filing, cashiering, receptionist duties, and data entry support overall office operations. The Passport Agent Clerk also contributes to training initiatives by supporting new agents and maintaining up-to-date electronic records. Additional tasks include resolving application discrepancies and handling undeliverable mail, generating correspondence, re-batching applications, and assisting with special projects when required. This multifaceted position demands strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage repetitive physical and clerical tasks effectively.
The role requires candidates to meet specific qualifications and physical demands, including successful completion of a government MRPT public clearance background check, a minimum of two years' experience preferably in administrative or customer service roles using Microsoft Office and related software, and at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Physical capabilities include lifting up to 25-30 pounds occasionally, sitting or standing for prolonged periods, and performing repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, and lifting. The position is 100% on-site, emphasizing the importance of a dependable presence and commitment to a structured work schedule.
KGS supports its workforce with a competitive compensation package and a comprehensive benefits program. This contract-to-hire position offers optional health, vision, and dental insurance plans. Employees accrue paid vacation and sick leave hours annually and receive pay for 11 federal holidays each year. Additionally, KGS offers a 401(k) retirement plan and incorporates holiday and wellness pay within the overall wage structure. This opportunity is ideal for candidates seeking a stable government-related position with the backing of a company known for its dedication to workforce solutions and employee support.
