Job Description
Spare Time is a family-friendly entertainment center known for providing fun-filled experiences including bowling, arcade games, laser tag, and escape rooms. Catering to groups of all sizes, Spare Time strives to create memorable birthday parties and special events by offering well-organized activities and excellent customer service. They emphasize a welcoming environment that caters to families and children, ensuring safe, fun, and engaging celebrations for all attendees. With a commitment to outstanding service standards encapsulated in their Code S.E.R.V.E., the company maintains a friendly yet professional atmosphere for guests and staff alike.
The role of Party Host at Spare Time is an integral position designed for individuals who enjoy interacting with guests, managing events, and contributing to a lively, safe celebration environment. As a Party Host, you will assist in the planning and execution of birthday parties and other events. You will act as the primary liaison between the party organizers (often parents) and the event staff, ensuring seamless coordination throughout the celebration. Key responsibilities include confirming party details, scheduling and overseeing team members, setting up party areas with the necessary supplies, and welcoming guests upon arrival.
In addition to guest interaction, the position requires supervision of the party patrol team, who assists with bowling lane safety, shoe management, and gaming activities such as arcade play and laser tag. You will also aid in training new staff members and providing ongoing education to ensure that all team members maintain a high standard of service. The Party Host is responsible for ensuring food and beverage orders are placed correctly and delivered punctually, supporting the party experience through activities like encouraging the traditional singing of happy birthday, and helping with event breakdown and cleanup to prepare for subsequent events.
This position offers a dynamic work environment that involves large crowds and children, with auditory and visual stimuli such as loud noise levels and laser lighting effects. Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, as well as lifting up to 50 pounds. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with at least two years of guest service experience, preferably in a related field. The job fosters a team-focused culture and provides opportunities for professional growth within the entertainment and hospitality sector.
