Founded in 1973, Michaels has established itself as North America's premier destination for creative enthusiasts, offering a wide range of products and services that fuel the joy of creativity and celebration. The company prides itself on providing customers with everything needed to inspire artistic expression, from crafting supplies to custom framing solutions through its subsidiary, Artistree. Michaels is not only committed to inspiring creativity but also fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where team members can thrive and contribute to the company’s vision and success.

This role is designed to ensure a memorable, stress-free, and enjoyable experience for guests of all ages, from young children to seniors. The Event Coordinator is responsible for managing multiple events simultaneously while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence. Key aspects of this role include creating a fun and creative environment during events, demonstrating and instructing craft projects such as face painting and party add-ons, and ensuring client satisfaction through excellent communication and follow-up.

This position also involves performing essential store duties such as truck unloading, merchandise stocking, and maintaining store appearance and safety standards, including participation in store cleanliness routines. The Event Coordinator supports other company programs such as shrink control, safety protocols, and Omni-channel retail processes like Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).

Successful candidates are expected to bring energetic enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage job stress and interact effectively with guests and team members. Experience working with children and organizing children’s events is highly preferred, alongside strong communication, organizational, and creative problem-solving abilities. Physical requirements for the role include the ability to stand for long periods, move throughout the store, and perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and reaching, sometimes involving the use of ladders for accessing high shelves.

At Michaels, the wellbeing of team members is a priority, offering comprehensive benefits including health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision, paid time off, tuition assistance, and generous employee discounts. Michaels is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to ensure full participation and access to employment opportunities.
