This role is a part-time Event Coordinator and Store Associate position based at the Spokane-North Division, WA store. The primary focus of this position is to plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging events such as children’s birthday parties and craft classes within the store, providing guests of all ages a stress-free, fun, and interactive experience. A strong emphasis is placed on creativity, customer service, and operational excellence. The coordinator is responsible for managing multiple events simultaneously, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining store standards. They will demonstrate craft project instructions, perform activities like face painting, organize party enhancements including goody bags and balloons, and communicate effectively with clients and team members. Additionally, this position involves supporting daily store operations such as helping customers locate products, providing fast and friendly checkouts, enrolling customers in rewards programs, handling online order processes like Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS), and conducting merchandise stocking and recovery duties.
Ideal candidates are energetic, enthusiastic, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience working with children and hosting children’s events is highly preferred. This role requires the ability to multitask, adjust plans based on client feedback, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards both during and after events. Since this position involves physical activities including lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for prolonged periods, candidates must be capable of managing these physical requirements. The work environment includes a public retail store setting with climate control in public areas as well as some exposure to stock rooms and occasional outdoor duties. Work hours may span nights, weekends, and early mornings to accommodate event schedules and store needs.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in retail or customer service
- Experience working with children or in children’s event planning preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and reaching
- Effective communication skills including verbal, written, and nonverbal
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and early mornings
- Commitment to uphold company policies and safety standards
- Willingness to assist in maintaining store cleanliness
- Must satisfy federal, state, and local legal employment requirements

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events
- Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities such as face painting
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons including goody bags and balloons
- Communicate events effectively with clients and store team members
- Complete administrative tasks including answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork
- Adjust event plans based on client feedback and create backup plans as needed
- Ensure client satisfaction and uphold company cleanliness and safety standards
- Help customers locate products and provide solutions
- Provide fast and friendly checkout experiences
- Promote and enroll customers in rewards programs and credit cards
- Assist with online order processes including BOPIS and SFS
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, merchandise recovery, and planogram tasks
- Support shrink and safety programs adhering to SOPs
- Cross-train in custom framing selling and production
- Maintain daily store cleanliness including sweeping, vacuuming, and restroom upkeep
- Perform Store in Stock Optimization and AD set duties as assigned
- Interact positively and respectfully with customers and team members even in difficult situations
