Michaels is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, ensuring reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the hiring process and employment.
The Event Coordinator role at Michaels in Ann Arbor, MI, is a dynamic and rewarding position that blends customer service, creativity, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating multiple events within the store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, crafting unforgettable experiences for guests of all ages. The Event Coordinator’s duties include demonstrating craft project completion, performing face painting, managing party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons, and handling administrative tasks such as answering emails and making phone calls. Additionally, this position involves ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining the cleanliness and safety standards of the store during and after events, and adapting event plans based on client feedback.
Beyond event-specific responsibilities, the Event Coordinator plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional customer shopping experience by assisting patrons in locating products, providing knowledgeable solutions, and ensuring fast, friendly checkout service. The role also encompasses operational tasks like truck unloading, merchandise stocking, planogram execution, and supporting company programs related to safety, shrink reduction, and standard operating procedures compliance.
