This role is based in the DFW area, specifically in Burleson, Texas, and is focused on event coordination within a Michaels store environment. As an Event Coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate events such as children's birthday parties and other creative classes or activities. This position requires creating a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests of all ages by delivering exceptional customer service that helps customers shop and find the products they need. You will also ensure a smooth and friendly checkout process.

In addition to event planning, your responsibilities will include operational duties such as truck unloading, merchandise stocking, and maintaining store recovery standards to uphold Michaels' brand promises. You will be engaging with clients ranging from young children to older adults, fostering an environment filled with creativity and joy. The role also involves administrative tasks like answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork related to event planning, ensuring clear communication with both clients and store team members.

You will demonstrate craft projects, provide activities like face painting, and facilitate party add-ons adhering to company standards. Flexibility is key in this role as you may need to adjust plans based on client feedback and create contingency plans when necessary. Furthermore, upholding cleanliness and safety standards before, during, and after events is a critical aspect of your duties.

Customer experience is highly valued at Michaels, and as part of your role, you will assist customers throughout their shopping journey. This includes helping them locate products, explaining the benefits of Michaels' Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, enrolling customers in these programs, and educating them on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey. You will also support omni-channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).

Your contribution will be essential in maintaining the store environment by participating in receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and maintaining merchandise presentation quality. You will assist with Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and other operational tasks as assigned, supporting overall store safety and shrink programs.

This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm, the ability to manage stress, and a passion for engaging with customers and team members alike. Experience working with children and in customer service or retail settings is preferred. Physical requirements include standing for long periods, moving around the store, bending, lifting, and using ladders for stocking purposes. Work hours may include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
