The role of Event Coordinator at the Michaels store in Kirkland, WA, is a dynamic and rewarding position focused on planning, coordinating, and facilitating a variety of fun and engaging events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. This position is vital in creating memorable, stress-free experiences by delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that every event runs smoothly and meets company standards. The Event Coordinator works closely with guests of all ages, from young children to seniors, fostering an environment of creativity and enjoyment. Responsibilities extend beyond event management to include assisting customers with shopping needs, providing product knowledge, and supporting operational store tasks like merchandise stocking and maintaining store cleanliness.

Job Duties

  • plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events
  • engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity
  • demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects and perform activities such as face painting
  • facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards
  • communicate events with clients and store team members
  • complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork
  • adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs
  • create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed
  • ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events
  • uphold company cleanliness and safety standards including setup and cleanup before and after each event
  • help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions
  • provide fast and friendly checkout experience
  • engage customers on benefits of rewards program and private label credit cards and complete enrollments
  • educate customers on Voice of Customer survey
  • assist with Omni channel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store
  • participate in truck unload, stocking and planogram processes
  • complete merchandise recovery and maintenance
  • perform Store in Stock Optimization and AD set duties as assigned
  • support shrink and safety programs
  • adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and company programs to ensure compliance
  • interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner and project a positive image
  • cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production
  • participate in daily store cleanliness activities
  • perform other duties as assigned
