Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Two or more years working with disadvantaged youth or in social services
  • Valid King County Food Handler's Permit
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and vehicle access
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to solve problems empathetically

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, or related field and two or more years experience working with homeless or disadvantaged youth in a training environment
  • Proficient and experienced in barista and café operations
  • Valid King County Food Handler's Permit
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and work with vulnerable populations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and comfortable with customized databases and internet research
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills with inclusivity focus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change
  • Ability to provide and receive feedback professionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills adapted to various audiences

Job Duties

  • Deliver barista and customer service curriculum in classroom, online, and on-the-job settings
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and feedback to students
  • Collaborate with café instructors to utilize production opportunities for skill development
  • Participate in meetings with partner agencies and operations staff to support student success
  • Work closely with Case Managers and partners to address student needs and solve program issues
  • Arrange field trips for students through community partnerships
  • Review and recommend improvements for barista curriculum
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching to students
  • Track and document student progress and related data
  • Serve as a dedicated trainer at Echo Glen Children's Center weekly
  • Manage administration and reporting for Echo Glen partnership, including inventory and attendance
  • Support training at partner organizations and community outreach events
  • Conduct classroom setup, cleaning, and organization
  • Provide backup barista and front of house café support as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
