Now hiring for the position of Van Delivery Driver at their Lansing, Michigan location, this role is crucial for maintaining Gordon Food Service's high standards for product delivery and customer service. The Van Delivery Driver position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy a dynamic work environment that requires both independent routing and teamwork within the store setting. Drivers are responsible for punctual, professional, and accurate deliveries of products following a variable daily route. In addition to delivery duties, they assist with in-store operations, helping to ensure efficient processing at the point of sale, proper merchandising, and inventory maintenance. The work schedule includes weekend availability, with store hours from Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Valid unrestricted standard operator's license
- Clean driving record with no drug or alcohol offenses in the last 5 years
- At least 1 year of delivery driving experience
- At least 1 year of customer service or related experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to use a two-wheel cart with loads up to 350 pounds
- Successful completion of pre-employment checks including drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 1 year of previous delivery driving experience and one year in customer service or a related field preferred
- Valid unrestricted standard operator's license
- Clean driving record with no drug or alcohol offenses in the last 5 years
- Ability to use a two-wheel cart with loads weighing up to 350 pounds
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to operate delivery vehicles safely and professionally
Job Duties
- Accurately locates and picks orders in-store for wholesale customers
- Builds and maintains good customer relationships
- Keeps customers happy with accurate, timely deliveries of GFS products
- Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle and equipment
- Ensures accurate and efficient processing of customer purchases through the point of sale
- Ensures security of assets including cash, checks, and merchandise by following policies and procedures
- Accurately receives and merchandises products, ensuring proper rotation and product quality, end cap and planogram execution, top stock, freezer, cooler and backroom organization
