Job Description

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is a family-owned and majority women-operated company founded in Utah in 2010. As a recognized industry pioneer in valet trash and recycling services, WSI serves apartment communities across Utah, Nevada, and Idaho. The company focuses on delivering exceptional doorstep waste collection services that prioritize convenience, environmental responsibility, and community care. Their Porters form the backbone of their operation, providing valued service directly to residents while maintaining cleanliness and sustainability within residential properties. WSI values its employees and takes pride in creating a supportive work environment, reinforcing its position as a respected employer in the region.

The company is currently hiring Part-Time Valet Porters in the Layton area for short evening shifts that are designed to fit seamlessly around your life. These shifts run for 1 to 2 hours per evening, Monday through Friday, with typical start times between 6:30 and 7:00 PM. This position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $20 to $25, depending on the site, with the higher rate applicable to locations that require use of a personal open-bed pickup truck. One of the standout features of this role is its exclusively weekday schedule; no weekend work is required, making it ideal for students, second-job seekers, and anyone looking for supplemental income without disrupting weekend plans.

In this role, you will work independently, walking assigned apartment communities to collect bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard from residents' doors. You will then transport these materials to onsite dumpsters, chutes, or compactors, ensuring proper separation of recyclables and monitoring for contamination. Cleaning up any loose trash around common areas is also part of your routine. Technology plays a key part in your workflow; all check-in and check-out is managed through a mobile app where you document your route, upload photographs, and leave courtesy notices as needed. Occasionally, you may assist with pet waste station servicing.

This position suits individuals who enjoy active, independent work and are looking for a predictable and consistent schedule. Typical shifts last under two hours, allowing you to be home before 10 PM. WSI provides complete training, making previous experience unnecessary. Physical demands include extensive walking, stair climbing, and carrying up to 50 pounds in various weather conditions. Applicants must be 18 or older, hold a valid Utah driver’s license and auto insurance, and possess a smartphone with a data plan and location services enabled. English language proficiency is also required.

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet embodies a culture of respect and equality, offering equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. They encourage motivated individuals looking for an easy-to-fit, rewarding, and socially responsible part-time opportunity to apply. This evening valet porter role is perfect for anyone wanting to earn extra income in a straightforward and flexible manner without weekend commitments or long shifts.
