Job Description

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is a family-owned, majority women-operated company founded in Utah in 2010. Recognized as an industry pioneer, WSI provides valet trash and recycling services across apartment communities in Utah, Nevada, and Idaho. The company is committed to serving its clients with excellence while taking great care of its employees, who are considered the backbone of the operations. WSI Trash & Recycling Valet prides itself on fostering a welcoming and supportive work environment where professionalism, reliability, and self-motivation are valued attributes. As an equal opportunity employer, WSI offers fair employment consideration to qualified candidates irrespective of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

We are currently hiring Part-Time Valet Porters for the Spanish Springs and Sparks area. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a short evening shift that fits conveniently around their lifestyle, offering the opportunity to work Monday through Friday with no weekend hours. The evening shifts generally start around 6:30 or 7:00 PM and last between 1 to 2 hours, allowing you to be home by 10 PM. Pay is competitive, with $20 per hour at standard sites and $25 per hour at selected locations requiring the use of a personal open-bed pickup truck.

The Valet Porter position does not require prior experience, as all necessary training is provided. Porters work independently on assigned routes at apartment communities, collecting bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard directly from residents’ doors and transporting them to designated onsite dumpsters, chutes, or compactors. Responsibilities also include separating recycling materials, checking for contamination, and tidying any loose trash around common areas. The role involves using a mobile app for check-in and check-out, documenting each route, uploading photographs, and leaving courtesy notices for residents when necessary. Occasionally, porters may assist with servicing pet waste stations.

This role is built for busy individuals such as students, those seeking a second job, or anyone looking to supplement their income with a predictable and manageable work schedule. The consistent nature of the route and timing ensures that employees always know what to expect and can plan their lives accordingly. Physical activity is a significant part of the job, involving extensive walking across apartment communities, ascending and descending stairs, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. This active, hands-on role offers a refreshing alternative to desk jobs, promoting health and engagement through movement and independence.

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet emphasizes respect, autonomy, and reliability in its team members. Porters operate largely without micromanagement, allowing them to run their routes at their own pace. The company is known for quick hiring processes, with new employees often starting the same week they are hired. This opportunity provides supplemental income through short, evening shifts that fit seamlessly into diverse schedules. If you value working outdoors, enjoy independent work, and want a job with no weekend commitments and competitive hourly pay, this part-time position with WSI Trash & Recycling Valet could be the perfect fit for you.
