The role involves collecting trash and recycling bags placed at residents' doorsteps and transporting them to the on-site trash compactor using the employee's personal open-bed pickup truck or vehicle with a trailer. Unlike traditional trash collecting jobs, this role does not require heavy lifting of bulk items, off-site driving, or dumping, making it a hands-on, manageable task suited for those seeking a physically active part-time job.

Trash Collectors work predominantly in the evenings, with shifts typically starting between 7:00 and 8:00 PM from Sunday through Thursday.
