As a part-time cashier, you will be the face of ALDI to customers, responsible for providing friendly, efficient checkout service. This role involves accurately scanning and processing purchases, handling transactions according to company policies, and ensuring the checkout area operates efficiently by opening additional lanes as necessary. Cashiers also play an essential role in completing curbside pickup orders by carefully retrieving and verifying items before delivering them to customers' vehicles.

For those joining as stockers, the primary responsibility is to maintain well-stocked, neatly arranged shelves following merchandising planograms designed to maximize sales potential. This role requires early morning availability, with shifts potentially beginning as early as 5:00 a.m., and involves physically demanding tasks such as lifting and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds. Maintaining product organization, adhering to inventory procedures, and supporting store cleanliness are essential components of the stocker role.

Both positions contribute significantly to ALDI's operational efficiency by assisting store management in achieving goals related to customer service, inventory control, safety, and loss prevention. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
  • ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • ability to work both independently and with others

Job Duties

  • Models and fulfills all customer service principles and escalates concerns to store management as necessary
  • assists store management in achieving operational efficiency goals

  • supports store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order

  • performs general cleaning tasks to company standards
  • properly utilizes the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and informs store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • adheres to cash policies and procedures
  • follows the line policy and opens additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • completes curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers vehicles from the staging area
  • stocks shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5 00am
