The Parks and Recreation department is currently seeking a Part-Time Snack Bar Assistant to join the team at one of its golf course facilities. This role is integral to delivering exceptional food and beverage service to golf course patrons, ensuring that visitors have a pleasant and convenient experience while enjoying their recreational activities. This position offers a minimum hourly rate of $10.00, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking part-time employment within a supportive and community-oriented setting.

The Part-Time Snack Bar Assistant will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders, preparing a variety of menu items including fried and grilled foods, and processing payments from patrons. The role requires maintaining cleanliness and stock levels in the snack bar and adjacent areas, as well as occasionally operating a beverage cart throughout the golf course. The successful candidate must demonstrate punctuality, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and preferably possess a high school diploma. A Top Shelf certification, which relates to responsible alcohol service, must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment such as printers are also important for handling transactions and inventory tasks. Additionally, strong attention to detail, cooperative teamwork skills, and excellent customer service abilities are critical for success in this position. Physical demands are minimal, primarily involving light activities necessary to manage food preparation and service duties.

Job Duties

  • Prepares various food orders including frying, grilling and assembling
  • takes food and beverage orders, alcohol beverages are served, prepares orders, and charges patrons for purchases
  • cleans snack bar area and clubhouse rest rooms on a daily basis
  • maintains stock levels in storage area
  • ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours
  • occasionally operates beverage cart throughout the golf course
  • responds to and reports immediately if called upon by local regional or central office supervisors, as part of a coordinated emergency response by the Knox County Mayor’s Office
  • perform other duties as required
