The company’s commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity strengthens its diverse workforce, ensuring that all employees feel respected, supported, and empowered. The culture at Scheels encourages associates to develop their knowledge and skills, contributing to personal growth and advancement opportunities within the company.
This role as a Shoe Runner at Scheels represents an exciting opportunity for candidates who are passionate about retail and customer service. Starting at $17.00 per hour, this position requires individuals to be adaptable and proactive, working a flexible schedule that falls between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. The average commitment is about 20 hours per week, with expectations to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and availability every other weekend.
As a Shoe Runner, you will be an integral part of the footwear department, engaging directly with customers and supporting sales associates to ensure a seamless and pleasant shopping experience. Your responsibilities will involve assisting in men’s, women’s, and youth shoe areas by selecting shoes from backstock, organizing products, and maintaining accurate inventory data. You will also play a vital role in processing shoe returns and replenishing the sales floor, contributing to an organized and clutter-free environment that enhances customer satisfaction.
Customer interaction is paramount in this role as you initiate warm and welcoming engagements with shoppers, establishing rapport and providing assistance that reflects Scheels’ dedication to top-notch service. You will need strong communication skills—both oral and written—to effectively collaborate with the Specialty Shop Manager and team members, understanding their urgent needs and responding promptly to ensure operational efficiency. Being organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking are essential traits for success in this position.
The Shoe Runner role at Scheels also emphasizes professionalism in appearance and attitude, fostering a positive team atmosphere marked by respect and consideration toward colleagues and customers alike. Candidates must be willing to perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership or merchandising leads, showcasing flexibility and a team-oriented mindset. Physical demands include the ability to perform activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and more, with the capacity to exert varying degrees of force as necessary to move objects safely.
This position represents more than just a job—it is a chance to join a respected company that invests in its employees through a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth. Joining Scheels means becoming part of an inclusive and supportive culture dedicated to excellence in retail and community engagement. If you are enthusiastic about retail, committed to customer service, and eager to thrive in a fast-paced, friendly environment, a career as a Shoe Runner at Scheels could be your perfect fit.
