Job Description

Thompson Houston Hotel is embarking on an exciting journey by launching a new destination restaurant concept as part of its renowned hospitality portfolio. This venture introduces a vibrant 3-meal dining venue featuring an expansive 1-acre pool deck optimized for hotel guests and residents. Guests will experience luxury cabanas, private event spaces, and versatile indoor-outdoor dining areas that boast the best views of downtown Houston. Managed jointly by Thompson Houston Hotel and the globally recognized Hyatt Hotels Corporation, this restaurant aims to deliver an exceptional dining atmosphere that intertwines luxury, comfort, and unmatched guest service.

This new restaurant relaunch, scheduled for the upcoming summer, presents an immediate opening for Restaurant Servers who are adept at elevating the dining experience. As a key front-of-house team member, the Restaurant Server will play an integral role in ensuring guests receive prompt, personable, and professional service. Responsibilities include accurately submitting guest menu selections and presenting food and beverage preferences while using expert menu knowledge to offer insightful recommendations on the extensive cuisine and drink offerings. Job Duties

  • Uphold company policies, including safety, sanitation, attendance, and dress code guidelines
  • Ensure perishable items are properly labeled, rotated, and discarded to maintain quality control
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and professional service to guests, anticipating their needs and responding to questions
  • Greet guests warmly, assist with seating, and provide menus, water, and drinks
  • Communicate specials, explain menu items and dietary considerations, and take accurate orders
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage delivery
  • Serve food and beverages promptly, maintaining proper presentation and timing
  • Monitor guest satisfaction, addressing requests, refilling drinks, and clearing plates
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally, escalating to management as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service, including assisting during busy periods
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently, presenting bills to guests
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including side work and station setup
  • Participate in training sessions, department meetings, and pre-shift meetings
