The Server role at Bass Pro Shops is a key position within the company's restaurant operations, responsible for ensuring a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for guests. This part-time role involves providing courteous and efficient service to guests within an assigned station, supporting the company's world-class guest service standards. The Server is expected to complete all training requirements and adhere to established service protocols, including proper verification of guests’ legal ability to purchase alcohol and measures to prevent overindulgence. A thorough knowledge of the menu is essential, as the Server must be able to communicate all food and beverage offerings effectively.

This role demands strong customer service skills, an ability to suggestively sell menu items, and meticulous attention to detail when taking and processing orders. The Server is also tasked with monitoring guest needs throughout the meal, handling payments accurately, and performing tip declaration activities consistent with service procedures. Daily cleaning, station setup and breakdown, as well as food running duties, are also integral parts of the job. Physical demands include regular walking and standing, along with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. The Server operates under general supervision but is encouraged to exercise independent judgment and provide recommendations to improve work procedures. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Supports a strong commitment to world class guest service and ensures a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for restaurant patrons
  • Completes training requirements and follows service standards as trained
  • Greets guests promptly and courteously in assigned workstation
  • Understands and executes established procedures for verifying guest’s ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knows how to prevent a guest from overindulging
  • Learns all menus and can communicate all food and beverage offerings
  • Effectively uses suggestive selling techniques
  • Records food and beverage orders, enters orders into computer system, monitors status of order preparation and safely transports order from kitchen to guest
  • Monitors and addresses guest needs during meal
  • Collects monies owed for food and beverages and properly performs all guest check accountability procedures
  • Performs tip declaration activities and compensates indirectly tipped associates, i.e., Bussers, Bartenders, Runners, as per established service procedures
  • Performs daily cleaning activities
  • Performs food running and station set-up/break-down responsibilities as assigned
  • All other duties as assigned
