Job Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age
Ability to stand and walk for long periods
Effective communication skills in English
Basic math ability to handle transactions
Willingness to learn and follow company procedures
Capability to handle physical demands such as lifting or moving items occasionally
Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude
Completion of company training including cashier, safety, and customer service modules

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous retail or cashier experience is a plus but not required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to operate cash register and self-checkout technology
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and calculation of discounts
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Strong customer service orientation and a positive attitude
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
Knowledge of proper handling of cash and transaction security
Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and teamwork skills
Ability to speak and understand English effectively
Willingness to complete company-provided training programs

Job Duties

Take excellent care of customers by satisfying their needs and exceeding expectations
Operate self-checkout stations and self-checkout robots accurately and efficiently
Maintain security and control of all funds in the cash register
Greet customers cheerfully, make eye contact and speak clearly and enthusiastically
Handle customer requests and direct complaints to the manager-on-duty
Follow proper VIC card procedures and communicate savings to customers
Bag groceries efficiently and according to customer preferences
Maintain clean and organized checkout area including counters and registers
Comply with state and local laws regarding tobacco and alcohol sales
Assist customers with scanning or locating items as needed
Keep the store environment safe by reporting accidents and hazards
Perform cleaning and stocking duties during quiet periods
Communicate in English with customers and team members effectively
Adhere to company dress and grooming standards
Support and assist fellow associates and contribute to a positive team environment
