Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- two years of experience providing programs
- must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- experience providing programs
- experience with customer service
- proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- experience working with older adult community or in community/recreation center environment
- experience assisting with event planning
- ability to handle high volume telephone calls
Job Duties
- assists in planning and designing programming, services, activities and/or events for the department
- researches and develops content for programming
- helps conduct community needs assessments
- gathers and reserves supplies and equipment
- creates handouts and informational materials
- schedules programming
- implements programming, services, activities and/or events
- conducts classes for participants with varying fitness and cognitive levels
- recruits participants for classes
- researches participant desires for new activities
- provides skill demonstrations
- provides customer service by responding to inquiries and enrolling clients
- coordinates programming and presentations
- communicates with community groups and organizations
- schedules speakers and activities
- plans and leads recreational and social events
- arranges physical space and transportation
- assists in planning public relations and communication
- creates and distributes promotional materials
- maintains mailing lists
- attends public events
- provides clerical support including completing reports and maintaining calendars
- transcribes meeting minutes
- manages petty cash and inventory
- participates in meetings and provides program input
- performs other assigned duties
