Job Description

Lathrop Community is a distinguished retirement community inspired by Quaker values and deeply committed to enriching the experience of aging. Located in Northampton and Easthampton, Massachusetts, Lathrop Community emphasizes providing a supportive and nurturing environment for its residents. Established with the mission to offer compassionate care and foster a sense of belonging, Lathrop Community stands as a place where seniors can enjoy a high quality of life coupled with dignity and respect. The community maintains two vibrant campuses, each designed to meet the diverse needs of older adults, creating a place where residents feel at home and valued.

This vibrant community is currently seeking a part-time housekeeper to play an integral role in the team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall environment of their Northampton and Easthampton campuses. This position offers 24 hours per week of meaningful work, including every other weekend, at a competitive pay rate of $18 per hour. As a key member of the central department, the housekeeper will not only be tasked with ensuring the physical spaces are clean and well-maintained but will also build meaningful relationships with staff, residents, and their families. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who value teamwork, take pride in their attention to detail, and wish to contribute positively to the community.

The role of housekeeper at Lathrop Community goes beyond typical cleaning duties; it is an essential position that directly influences the comfort and wellbeing of the residents. While maintaining high standards of cleanliness and orderliness, housekeepers support the overall mission by creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere. The housekeeper will have the opportunity to work independently and collaborate with others, offering support that aligns with the Quaker principles of kindness, respect, and service. In this position, employees gain satisfaction by applying their expertise in housekeeping to serve an aging population, making each day’s work impactful and fulfilling.

Lathrop Community encourages individuals who possess a valid driver's license, are capable of working both independently and in a team setting, and who demonstrate strong attention to detail to apply. A genuine desire to make a positive impact through your work and a comfort with interacting with elderly residents and their families is essential. The part-time schedule offers flexibility while providing a chance to contribute to a mission-driven organization that values each employee’s role in enhancing the resident experience.

Working at Lathrop Community means becoming part of a respectful, caring environment where all departments contribute to resident life and care. This special opportunity to join a mission-driven organization promotes personal growth, meaningful relationships, and the ability to see the tangible impact of your efforts.
