Job Requirements
- less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting and accessing information
- less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards and protection plans
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
- 1 to 2 years of experience working in any Lowe's retail department
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing and coaching employees
- less than 1 year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
Job Duties
- monitor and identify customers needing assistance at self-checkout registers
- proactively engage and assist multiple customers at self-checkout
- recommend products and services appropriately
- provide excellent SMART customer service according to company policies
- locate, demonstrate, and assist with merchandise
- respond promptly and knowledgeably to customer questions
- coach, train, and provide feedback to associates
- operate cash register and process transactions including refunds and returns
- supervise front-end team activities
- remove security tags and bag merchandise
- open additional registers as needed
- prepare register area and stock supplies
- inspect returned merchandise
- enter and submit customer orders
- review and place online orders
- verify price matches
- maintain safety and security standards
- detect signs of theft and report accordingly
- adhere to housekeeping and safety compliance
- operate store equipment as needed
- perform additional duties as assigned
