Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including data entry and modification
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience
- Ability to lift items up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
- Availability to work flexible hours as needed
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to stand and move throughout the store during shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience in product identification and sales
- Supervisory experience in directing, training, or coaching employees preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Knowledge of retail operations and customer service best practices
- Familiarity with safety and loss prevention practices
Job Duties
- Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Proactively greet and engage customers while recommending products and services
- Provide SMART customer service by executing company policies and programs
- Assist customers in locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Use cash registers to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
- Supervise, coach, and support front-end associates and loaders
- Inspect returned merchandise, manage orders, and verify product information
- Ensure safety and security of the store by monitoring entrances and exits and detecting theft
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
- Operate store equipment such as scanners, paging systems, and cash registers
- Open additional registers to ensure adequate coverage
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone or in person
- Remove security tags and bag merchandise for customers
- Assist in line management for quicker checkout turnaround
- Conduct daily safety reviews and maintain hazard-free aisles
- Perform other duties as assigned
