Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing or modifying information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at Lowe's retail store preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, evaluating, training, and coaching employees preferred
  • Less than 1 year of experience detecting signs of shoplifting preferred

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
  • Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • Thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
  • Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listens and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by walking them through projects when necessary
  • Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • Communicates information regarding stock, orders, features, benefits, applications, and warranties
  • Coaches, develops and trains associates on departmental duties and sales opportunities
  • Uses cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds
  • Provides monetary change to CSA Front End associates
  • Supervises, coaches, and supports CSA Front End Team
  • Removes security tags, verifies product info, and bags merchandise
  • Answers incoming phone calls and directs or takes messages
  • Opens additional registers to ensure coverage
  • Assists in line vesting for quicker checkout turnaround
  • Prepares register area at beginning and end of shift by testing equipment and stocking supplies
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damage
  • Processes customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets
  • Reviews and places online orders and returned merchandise
  • Looks up product info and competitor prices for price match
  • Records store-used items
  • Monitors cash drawer amounts and maintains security bags
  • Monitors store entrances and alerts on alarms
  • Detects shoplifting, theft, and security risks and reports to management
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety via housekeeping standards
  • Ensures safe work environment including hazard review and aisle clearance
  • Adheres to safety requirements and operates store equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
