Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- Experience with credit card sales, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties
- Experience as a head cashier preferred
- Experience working in any Lowe's retail department preferred
- Supervisory experience including directing, evaluating, and coaching employees preferred
- Knowledge of detecting shoplifting signs preferred
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services
- Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
- Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
- Thanks the customer and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
- Provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's policies and procedures
- Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions, walking them through projects when necessary
- Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
- Uses cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
- Provides supervision and coaching to CSA Front End associates
- Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
- Answers incoming phone calls and directs messages
- Opens additional registers to ensure coverage
- Assists in line vesting to improve checkout turnaround
- Prepares register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
- Inspects returned merchandise
- Enters and submits customer orders
- Looks up product information and competitor prices
- Records store-used items
- Obtains safety bags and monitors cash in drawers
- Monitors store entrances and exits for security
- Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates to management
- Ensures cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
- Maintains a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews and securing the area
- Operates store equipment as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
