Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Effective computer skills and knowledge
  • Minimum one year experience working with homeless population
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing

  • Preferred bilingual in any language
  • Preferred knowledge in addiction, recovery, and mental illness
  • Preferred knowledge of issues pertaining to homelessness

Job Duties

  • Maintain an exceptional customer service oriented front desk environment
  • Welcome guests, staff, and visitors in person and via phone
  • Respond to guest and neighbor concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner
  • Operate electronic entry monitoring system and multi-line phone system
  • Log all activities of the shift
  • Create and update guest IDs in the Pine Street data system
  • Assist guests in accessing services such as food, clothing, medical care, and referrals
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment by attending to safety and security policies
  • Collaborate frequently with on-site security services and other Pine Street departments
  • Assess guests' needs and assets to make appropriate transitional and housing referrals
  • Serve as a resource to assist guests in obtaining permanent housing
