Reikart House Hotel, located on 5000 Main St., Amherst, NY 14226, is a prestigious establishment recognized for its award-winning hospitality and dedicated team. Currently, Reikart House Hotel is seeking a Butler to become an integral part of their acclaimed service team. This role is designed for creative, driven individuals who embody the spirit of hospitality and have a genuine commitment to their craft. As a Butler, you will be the primary point of contact for guests, providing information about the hotel and the city and responding promptly and thoroughly to guests' immediate needs. The position demands a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a warm and friendly demeanor. The Butler will be responsible for greeting guests, managing check-in and check-out processes, handling guest accounts and transactions, and maintaining strong customer relations.

The Butler position at Reikart House includes shifts across the day and night to accommodate around-the-clock guest needs, including first, second, and third shifts with weekend availability. This role requires multitasking, problem-solving under pressure, and a strong ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments. The ideal candidate will possess prior hospitality experience, be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive and confidential guest information with discretion. Ability to navigate computer systems such as Microsoft Office, PMS, and CRM programs is advantageous but not mandatory, as training is provided.

In this role, the Butler is expected to uphold the highest standards of presentation and guest service, anticipate guest needs, and contribute to maintaining the hotel’s reputation for excellence. The position may also include assisting in other departments and performing duties such as preparing luxury baths or facilitating functions outside the primary responsibilities. Physical requirements include lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds, continuous standing and walking, as well as mobility via elevator access. Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of prior experience in related hospitality fields
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Ability to maintain excellent professional presentation and grooming
  • Strong reading and writing skills
  • Ability to operate computer systems including Microsoft Office, PMS, and CRM (prior knowledge is a plus)
  • Formal butler training highly regarded
  • Ability to work seamlessly with all departments
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
  • Ability to understand and interact with guests of varying expectations
  • Standard work cards required

Job Duties

  • Greet and complete check-in procedures for arriving guests
  • Facilitate guest departure by following check-out procedures and closing guest accounts
  • Calculate and post monies, receipts, and guest accounts using proper cash handling and established procedures
  • Answer inquiries and accept reservations in person and by telephone by communicating rates and using suggestive selling techniques
  • Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions
  • Control cash transactions at the front desk and manage the personal bank account as per hotel policy
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management
