Job Description
Valet Living is a reputable service company specializing in providing residential waste management solutions predominantly for apartment communities. Known for its customer-centric approach and commitment to maintaining safe, clean living environments, Valet Living partners with property managers to deliver dependable trash and recycling services. The company emphasizes sustainable practices, focusing on reducing waste and enhancing resident satisfaction in multi-family housing communities. Valet Living prides itself on its strong ethical standards and inclusive workplace environment, welcoming a diverse workforce committed to making a positive impact in their local neighborhoods.
This specific opportunity is for a part-time Doorstep Trash Collection Specialist, also known as a Service Valet, who will be responsible for servicing one or more apartment communities located close to your home. This role is ideal for those seeking consistent evening hours without the need for long-distance travel or off-site dumping. The position provides a good balance of physical activity and customer service by collecting bagged trash and cardboard recycling directly from apartment doorsteps and taking it to an on-site compactor. With typical shifts scheduled on weeknights Sunday through Thursday, starting after 7 or 8 PM, this role offers the flexibility to work around other commitments such as a full-time job, school, or family responsibilities.
A key requirement for this job is owning a personal open-bed pickup truck or a vehicle equipped with a trailer, which is necessary to transport refuse during service runs. Working in this role allows you to stay local, service your nearby community, and maintain a steady part-time income with an earning rate of $21 per hour for truck operators and $19 per hour for helpers. The job uses a mobile app to enable efficient check-ins, job tracking, and documentation with photos when needed, ensuring smooth operations and communication. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking supplemental earnings, especially as evenings jobs are often scarce with flexible hours and fast payment options through DailyPay for quick access to earned wages.
The job is physically engaging, requiring the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, walk considerable distances while navigating stairs, and perform duties outdoors in varying weather conditions. Safety is a priority, with the provision of gloves, safety vests, and necessary equipment to maintain a protective working environment. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys staying active, working independently, and engaging with the community by contributing to cleaner and more pleasant living spaces. Valet Living also stresses the opportunity for career progression, noting that half of its Area Leader positions are filled through internal promotions, making this an attractive option for long-term career growth within the company.
Valet Living is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities without regard to race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected statuses. This position’s benefits include a steady pay structure, local assignments to minimize commute times, and a team-oriented, community-focused work environment.
