Job Description
Valet Living is a leading service company dedicated to improving the living experience in apartment communities through exceptional doorstep trash and recycling collection services. Recognized for their commitment to quality and community care, Valet Living partners with residential complexes to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable environments for residents. The company focuses on providing reliable, convenient, and environmentally responsible services that support the well-being of apartment living spaces. Valet Living values diversity and inclusivity in its workforce and offers equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates without regard to race, religion, gender, age, or other protected statuses.
The current opportunity is for a part-time Doorstep Trash Collection Specialist, also known as a Service Valet. This role is perfect for individuals seeking steady evening work with flexible hours, typically ranging between 10 to 15 hours per week. Part-time nights are generally scheduled from Sunday through Thursday, with shifts starting after 7:00 or 8:00 PM, making it an ideal job to balance with another part-time job, school, or family commitments. The position offers competitive pay with a rate of $14 per hour for helpers and $17 per hour for those using their personal open-bed pickup truck or a vehicle with a trailer.
As a Service Valet, the primary responsibility is to ensure that residents’ bagged trash and cardboard recycling are collected right from their doorsteps and taken to the on-site compactor by morning. This ensures that apartment communities stay clean and organized, enhancing residents' satisfaction with their living space. The job involves working at one or more nearby apartment communities within the same local area, eliminating the need for long-distance travel or off-site dumping. This locality-focused work keeps your commute short and convenient.
The role requires physical activity, including walking the property, climbing stairs, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Employees are expected to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Safety is a key priority, and necessary protective equipment, including gloves and safety vests, is provided to each team member.
Technology integration is part of the daily routine in this role, with Service Valets using a mobile app to check in, track their work progress, and take photos when necessary. This digital system facilitates efficient communication and documentation, ensuring that the service delivery meets high standards.
The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy staying active and want to avoid sedentary jobs, as it offers the opportunity to move and be physically engaged while earning income. Valet Living provides a fast hiring process, enabling you to start quickly and begin earning promptly through their daily pay system called DailyPay.
Other advantages include staying local with assigned routes near your home, an excellent benefit for those needing to manage their time effectively. Additionally, the company offers career growth opportunities, with half of their Area Leader roles filled by internal promotions, encouraging team members to develop and ascend within the organization. Referral bonuses ranging from $125 to $500 are available for employees who recommend friends to join the team.
If you are 18 years or older, possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance, and have your own open-bed pickup truck or a vehicle with a trailer, you have the core eligibility to apply. A smartphone with a data plan is also required to utilize the mobile work app effectively. Autonomy and the ability to follow a consistent routine are important traits for success in this role. Valet Living welcomes applicants authorized to work in the United States and emphasizes a supportive, inclusive workplace culture.
