The position available is for a Part-Time Decorator at the MSU Bakery, offering an hourly wage of $16.00. This role is ideally suited for passionate decorators who have experience in the bakery and pastry arts and take pride in decorating baked goods to a high standard. The Decorator will be responsible for decorating a variety of baked goods including cookies, cupcakes, and brownies, utilizing icings, fillings, and toppings to create visually appealing and delicious products. This job requires a creative eye combined with practical baking skills to ensure every item is prepared with excellence.

In this role, you will perform bakery make-up duties which include the preparation and decoration of cakes and other sweets to produce high-quality decorated baked goods for MSU customers. Duties involve loading and unloading bakery items, operating and maintaining equipment such as mixers and pastry tools, storing ingredients properly to prevent waste, and cleaning work areas according to stringent sanitary standards. You will also assist in distribution and the arrangement of baked items, working collaboratively with bakers and other staff to meet production goals. Attention to detail and adherence to hygiene and safety protocols are essential to succeed in this role.

This position requires at least 2 years of decorating experience in a retail or home business setting, emphasizing a demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service. MSU Bakers values a positive work attitude and respectful interaction within its diverse team and customer base. The position involves some physical demands, including occasional lifting of 26 to 75 pounds, and requires availability to work a minimum of 25-29 hours per week, with shifts scheduled between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Sunday to Friday.
