Job Description

The American Red Cross is the world's largest humanitarian network, renowned for its impactful missions that aid millions of people every year. Established with a commitment to alleviating human suffering, the organization operates across the United States and internationally, providing critical services such as disaster relief, blood donation drives, health and safety training, and support to military families. As a mission-driven nonprofit organization, the American Red Cross fosters an environment of compassion, unity, and dedication to serving communities in need. Their workforce is diverse and inclusive, welcoming individuals who aspire to make a tangible difference in the lives of others through meaningful work and volunteerism.

Joining the American Red Cross means becoming part of a team of extraordinary individuals who are unified in their goal to aid people and communities while growing their careers within a purpose-driven movement. Employees benefit from supportive mentorship, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits that respect their work-life balance and personal well-being. The organization emphasizes the importance of a positive workplace culture, where team members care for each other and the communities they serve. Every role contributes directly to the Red Cross' mission of helping people prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.

The Courier position at the American Red Cross is essential in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of blood products and related materials to internal and external customers. This role demands a high level of responsibility and care to maintain regulatory compliance and safety standards, particularly because it involves handling potentially infectious blood and body fluids. Couriers play an integral part in the supply chain that supports critical medical and emergency services nationwide.

This full-time role typically operates on a weekend schedule, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a pay rate of $16.60 per hour plus applicable differentials for evenings and weekends. The courier is expected to operate company vehicles safely, maintain cleanliness and functionality of the delivery vehicle, and provide excellent customer service. This role also requires physical stamina to handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds and occasional work in refrigerated environments while adhering to safety protocols such as wearing protective equipment.

Working as a Courier with the American Red Cross offers the unique opportunity to blend a career with a meaningful cause. Employees not only grow professionally but contribute to a legacy of humanitarian service that touches millions of lives. The organization encourages career growth through mentorship and fosters a culture where dedication and compassion are recognized and rewarded. Joining this team means joining a community that values both the professional and personal aspects of its employees’ lives, providing a sense of belonging and purpose within a globally respected institution.
