The Full-Time Cook will work from 10am to 6:30pm, ensuring meal preparations align with established recipes and nutritional guidelines under the guidance of the dietary manager. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience in a fast-paced or healthcare environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to handle physical demands of kitchen work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work designated shifts including weekends and holidays
- Valid Hawaii Food Handler's Certificate or ServSafe certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a cook or chef in a similar setting preferably in a healthcare facility or senior living community
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Hawaii Food Handler's Certificate or ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements ensuring quality and consistency
- Plan menus in consultation with the dietary manager taking into account nutritional guidelines budget constraints and resident preferences
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment adhering to sanitation and safety standards at all times
- Monitor food inventory levels place orders for supplies as needed and rotate stock to minimize waste
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely meal service
- Assist with special events and catering functions as required
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations including proper food handling and storage procedures
