We are excited to invite an experienced Part Time Cook to join our Food and Beverage team at the AC Hotel Portsmouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing food in accordance with recipe cards, production, and portion standards, ensuring high-quality dishes are delivered promptly and consistently. The position requires a high level of dependability, excellent communication, and the ability to follow directions from executive and sous chefs carefully.   • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of or ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety
  • Basic understanding of or ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene
  • Prior related experience preferred
  • ServSafe/Safe Food handling certification as required by individual property

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare food following recipe cards and production and portion standards
  • Adhere to all applicable Colwen and brand standards
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report, and follow Executive or Sous Chef instructions
  • Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and timely fashion
  • Date and rotate stored food items as per hotel and food safety standards
  • Ensure proper time and temperature standards
