Job Requirements
- valid California Food Handler's Card
- 4+ years of professional kitchen experience
- strong knife skills
- expertise in cooking proteins
- ability to multitask in high-volume environment
- ability to work AM and PM shifts
- physical ability to carry lift push pull up to 50 pounds
- ability to bend and stoop regularly
- ability to work with grills, ovens, and stovetops
Job Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional kitchen experience including hot line, cold station, and pizza prep
- expertise in cooking proteins to precise temperatures including meat and fish
- strong knife skills and butchery knowledge
- ability to adhere to recipes accurately
- valid California Food Handler's Card
- ability to multitask in a high-volume setting while maintaining quality
- open availability for AM and PM shifts
Job Duties
- maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing proper uniform
- have thorough knowledge of menus and preparation according to hotel standards
- comply with certification requirements such as food handlers safety
- prepare food items according to guest orders following recipe cards, production, portion, and presentation standards
- start food items prepared ahead of time avoiding overproduction
- maintain kitchen line post during operating hours to prepare food to order with efficiency, productivity, and quality
- prepare food for banquets following banquet event order specifications
- operate, maintain,and clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
- understand ingredients, products, and equipment
- operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- clean and maintain station practicing good safety and sanitation
- assist with kitchen and equipment cleaning and organization
- restock items as needed through shift
- practice safe work habits to avoid injuries
