Job Description
We are a dedicated and community-oriented residential care facility committed to providing our residents with a warm, safe, and supportive living environment. Our establishment focuses on enhancing the quality of life for approximately 40 to 50 residents through compassionate care and well-prepared, nutritious meals. We understand the importance of homestyle cooking in creating a sense of comfort and familiarity for our residents, which is why we emphasize serving hearty dinners that include a well-balanced entree, sides, and dessert. Our team values dependable and friendly staff who take pride in their work and contribute to a positive atmosphere within our kitchen and the larger community we serve.
The role we are offering is a part-time cook position involving 8-hour shifts, where you will be the sole cook in the kitchen during your designated times. This unique opportunity allows you to work independently, managing all aspects of meal preparation from start to finish. You will be responsible for planning your cooking schedule, preparing the dinner meals, plating carefully, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean and organized. The position requires someone who enjoys creating homestyle meals that are both delicious and comforting, catering specifically to a group of residents who truly appreciate well-prepared food. Since we serve dinner only, you won’t have to worry about early mornings or late-night shifts, providing a steady and predictable schedule that supports work-life balance. As a cook at our facility, you will play a vital role in the daily routine of our residents by offering them nourishing meals that add to their overall wellbeing. We foster a low-stress and supportive work environment where your contributions are valued and your independence is respected. If you have experience working solo in a professional kitchen setting, are knowledgeable about food safety and cleanliness, and are passionate about cooking for groups, you will feel right at home in this position. Moreover, being part of our team means you get to share your culinary talents in a caring and rewarding atmosphere where your meals have a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
