Job Description

The hiring establishment is a distinguished community that prides itself on providing exceptional service and support to its residents. This community is committed to fostering an environment where every resident experiences comfort, respect, and personalized assistance tailored to their individual needs. As a part-time position, the Concierge role plays an essential part in enhancing the overall atmosphere by serving as the courteous and professional first point of contact for both visitors and those calling the community. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is categorized as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The role of Concierge is pivotal in ensuring that all residents, visitors, and staff receive attentive, responsive, and high-quality service. You will be required to manage a variety of communication tasks, including answering telephone calls and greeting visitors, while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. The Concierge supports the broader team by optimizing each resident’s well-being and overall experience through diligent coordination and assistance with daily activities. Duties encompass a wide array of responsibilities such as scheduling transportation and salon appointments, managing maintenance work orders, and tracking the delivery and accounting of sundry items. In addition, the role involves monitoring security cameras as the first responder to residents’ Emergency Response System, which requires vigilance and promptness.

This position requires not only strong administrative skills but also a strong appreciation and understanding of seniors and the aging process. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with residents, employees, families, and visitors. The role also demands problem-solving skills, conflict resolution capabilities, and proficiency in general computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications. Physical demands include the ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds. Working in this environment means being prepared to encounter occasional behavioral challenges among residents, necessitating patience and professionalism.

The Concierge position is ideal for individuals passionate about serving senior communities and contributing positively to their day-to-day lives by providing assistance in a respectful and efficient manner. As this is a part-time role, it suits those seeking flexible employment opportunities in a supportive and engaging workplace environment. Overall, the Concierge becomes an indispensable link between the community’s team and its residents, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all involved.
