Job Description
WeWork is a leading global provider of flexible workspace solutions, established to support businesses of all sizes in thriving across more than 37 countries worldwide. As a company, WeWork is committed to reshaping the future of work by creating vibrant communities and innovative spaces that empower individuals and organizations to reach new heights. United by a mission to foster an environment of collaboration and creativity, WeWork offers dynamic office environments designed to inspire productivity and connection among members from diverse industries and backgrounds. The company’s purpose is to deliver more than just a physical workspace; it seeks to provide support systems, resources, and a community that enables its members to do their best work and realize their full potential.
The role of Community Associate at WeWork is a unique and pivotal position within this thriving environment. As the primary point of contact, a Community Associate acts as the “face” of WeWork, embodying its values and mission daily. This position involves supporting the Community Management team by fostering a welcoming, collaborative, and engaging atmosphere for all members. The Community Associate contributes to building strong relationships among members, facilitating networking opportunities, and organizing events that cultivate a sense of community within the building. Reporting directly to the Community Lead and Community Manager, this role is essential in ensuring the operational efficiency of the workspace by managing front desk responsibilities, member services, and building operations.
Community Associates work in a vibrant and fast-paced environment where they balance multiple duties such as greeting members and guests, managing mail and deliveries, organizing membership events, and supporting building operations. This role often involves anticipating and addressing member needs to personalize their experience, upholding WeWork’s guest policies, and maintaining the front desk area with professionalism and warmth. The role is especially crucial in maintaining the smooth flow of daily operations, handling member inquiries, coordinating key management, and supporting emergency preparedness initiatives.
This role typically operates on a schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Tuesday through Thursday, providing flexibility and a balanced workweek. Employees supporting different types of WeWork locations—including Enterprise or Classic sites—may experience varied responsibilities related to technical systems, operational processes, holidays, and client management. The position is suited for individuals who are passionate about entrepreneurial communities and have strong interpersonal, multitasking, and communication skills.
The Community Associate is compensated competitively with a base pay ranging from $21.00 to $23.00 per hour and eligibility for incentive compensation plans tailored to the role. Part-time employees also have access to WeWork’s benefit plans, including paid sick time, paid parental leave, unpaid public holidays, and participation in a 401(k) plan. Beyond the compensation and benefits, working at WeWork offers an enriching experience that goes beyond employment – where collaboration, innovation, and community engagement are encouraged, making WeWork an inspiring place to grow one’s career.
